
Melissa Jaworowski
Biography:
Originally from Long Island, New York, Melissa has been living in coastal NC for 11 years. Melissa thoroughly enjoys the life she and her family have built in NC. She is married with three children. She also loves her furry family, including Shadow the GoldenDoodle and Charlee the lab Mix. Her family will be adding another Doodle soon!
Melissa earned her Bachelor's degree in Human Relations from Saint Joseph's College and she received a Master of Science in Education degree with a School Counseling focus from Long Island University. During her graduate career, Melissa has gained counseling experience working in education as a School Counselor. She has ten years of experience providing individual and group counseling to students ranging in age from elementary to high school. Prior to being a School Counselor, Melissa worked with individuals with disabilities in various roles, including case management and managing a Group Home. Melissa also has experience with Intensive In Home Therapy as a Qualified Professional.
In her practice she uses cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) as the preferred technique, as well as the Rogerian theory of Person-Centered therapy. Melissa believes that people have the capacity and desire for personal growth and change. She desires working with people to achieve their goals and dreams as well as developing coping strategies and new modalities for positive outcomes. Melissa also enjoys working with people of all ages including children, adolescents, parents, and adults. She also maintains learning how to keep a trauma-informed practice to better assist individuals who have had these types of experiences in their lives.
She will be providing Telehealth only services at this time.
